The year 2026 begins with a great deal of recognition for Ajaccio airport.
The Ajaccio-based platform was recently awarded the prestigious AéroBio« level 4 label (out of 5!), awarded by the Aérobiodiversité association, which is committed to understanding, preserving and promoting biodiversity at partner airports nationwide.
This distinction, awarded by the Scientific Council, recognises the steps taken by Ajaccio airport in terms of biodiversity.
The label was awarded following a field audit during which several areas of commitment were assessed: biodiversity in the broadest sense (knowledge of flora and fauna, monitoring of heritage species, grassland management techniques), mobilisation of airport staff, communication dedicated to these issues, and local roots, particularly through local partnerships.
Already awarded the «AéroBio» level 1 label in 2023, Ajaccio airport is delighted to have reached this demanding level, reflecting its strong desire and pride in preserving its ecological heritage.
