Photo exhibition on airport biodiversity
For a passenger, an airport is a world of planes, baggage, security guards and, sometimes, chaos.
You're in the mood to travel, far from imagining that wild animal and plant species live nearby.
Nothing unexpected for the Aérobiodiversité association, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year and to which the CCI de Corse belongs.
And with good reason.
Platforms are enclosed areas protected from human activity and urban development for safety reasons.
Because grasslands are among the most threatened natural environments in Europe, airport biodiversity deserves to be considered.
In 2021, the association created the Aérobio label, reflecting the airports' commitment in this area.
Our airports have passed the first levels and will continue to do so because their meadows are more resilient to drought.
Not only is airport Corsica remarkable for the number and variety of species it hosts, it also boasts a good number of endemic species.
But we only enjoy what we share.
With this in mind, a photographic exhibition on the biodiversity present at our airport is on display in our terminal building.
