On 10 March, a large number of volunteers (staff from Air Corsica, Air France, the Brigade de Gendarmerie du Transport Aérien, Customs, the Ajaccio and Figari Control Authority, the Post Office) mobilised on the platform to take part in our FODWALK, collective action in the service of air safety and the’environment.
Objective: to cover the manoeuvring area in order to identify and remove FOD (Foreign Object Debris), These objects or waste could represent a danger to aircraft.
After inspection of almost the entire runway and taxiways (TWY Alpha, Tango, Bravo, Echo and Fox), no FOD was detected on the aeronautical pavement.
However, a lot of waste was collected in the strips, contributing to the cleanliness of the platform and preserving the environment.
A big thank you to all the volunteers for their mobilisation and commitment.
